The Fire and Ice room contains a private infrared sauna and unlimited cold plunging.  Contrast therapy (Hot/Cold therapy) strengthens the tubes in the muscles, arteries and veins, increasing their efficiency in moving blood to the extremities and back to the vital organs. This increases both oxygen circulation and nutrient absorption in the body.  While expereincing the deep heat of the sauna, blood is pumped away from the core to the extremities, causing the blood vessels to open.  Immesion in the cold plunge, causes the tubes in the muscles, arteries and veins to flex, in order to draw the blood back to the core and vital organs. 

 

This type of therapy is extremely benficial for arthritis, injury healing and strenthening of the immune system.  Since cold water immesion creates a load on the system, the same way lifting a weight does on a muscles, it strengthens it over time.  Regular participation in Contrast therapy increases muscles tone and resilency to stress. It also increases the lymphatic system's ability to push out toxins through the lymph. The combination leaves you feeling alert in your mind and relaxed in your body. It aslo helps promote a good night's sleep.

WHEN NOT USE THE Infrared Sauna or Cold Plunge Bath if:

 

• I have not showered thoroughly and still have oils, creams, or makeup on my body.                                                     

 

• I have had any type of HAIR COLOR/treatment within the past two weeks. If RED COLOR OR OTHER COLORS (Green, Blue, Purple - within the past six weeks.

 

• pregnant women

• anyone with heart disease

• those with very low or high blood pressure

• anyone with epilepsy

• those taking antibiotics

• users of mind-altering drugs, such as stimulants, tranquilizers, or alcohol

 

It’s always important to consult your doctor before trying cold therapy, especially if you have underlying health conditions.
