FAQ ABOUT FLOATING
HOW DO I PREPARE MYSELF FOR MY FLOAT?
We recommend that you eat about 30 minutes BEFORE the float session. That way you can be relaxed and comfortable and not be thinking about being hungry.
We also recommend that you do not shave your legs or face for a day before the float. Small cuts will sting from the salt solution and can be distracting.
Also, if you recently colored your hair, we ask that you wait at least a week before floating.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY FLOAT?
Please show up 5 minutes before the scheduled float so that we have time to go over the Pre- and Post-float instructions. (Due to limited space, we may not be able to accommodate arrivals earlier than 5 minutes.)
WHAT IF I AM CLAUSTROPHOBIC?
The personal floatation cabin at Bare Necessities Floating and MAssage are very spacious. They are essentially the size of a small room measuring 8 ft long x 4.5 ft wide with an 7 ft ceiling. The enclosure is large enough to allow stretching out completely or standing up. Please feel free to come for a tour of the space, if concerned.
SHOULD I BRING MY SWIMSUIT?
You can float in your birthday suit... a swimsuit is not needed.
HOW IS THE WATER MAINTAINED?
Salt is a natural anti-microbial and antiseptic, especially at the high concentration present in the floatation cabin at Bare Necessities Floating and Massage Center. Our float cabin are is equipped with the sanitation system to filter particles from the water to 1 micron in size and are FDA compliant for drinking water (Class 1 Filtration). Standard pleated pool and spa filter cartridges only filter to 20-30 micron and require constant cleaning (Class 3 Filtration). The filter is also equipped with a UV filter and the water is treated with a small dose of Food-Grade hydrogen peroxide.
CAN I FLOAT IF I AM PREGNANT?
Floating is ideal for pregnant women as it alleviates pressure on the skeletal system and joints, and assists in relieving muscle tension. We do recommend that pregnant women consult their physician prior to floating, especially during the first trimester.
DO I NEED TO BOOK APPOINTMENTS AHEAD OF TIME?
Bare Necessities Float and Massage recommends booking in advance, but certainly will try and accommodate walk-in appointments according to availability. Our online booking tool is easily accessible. Schedule a float by clicking here
IS THERE A SHOWER THAT I CAN USE?
Float room has a private shower that you use before and after your float.
